Dizzy Krisch (* 23. February 1954 in Schramberg as Martin Krisch ) is a German jazz musician ( vibraphone , piano and composition ).

biography

Krisch has been active on the German jazz scene since 1963 - initially with his older brothers Claus and Thomas in a children's band founded by his father, the jazz musician and art teacher Franz Krisch (1915–1973); this Krisch Junior Quartet performed at the 1964 jazz festivals in Zurich and Vienna. In 1968, she later invited Peter Frankenfeld to his TV show Vergißmeinnicht .

In 1973 he moved to Munich as a professional musician, where he worked in the studios and performed with musicians such as Carles Benavent , John Scofield , Günter Kronberg and Wolfgang Engstfeld ; he was also a member of the Nightwork group with Klaus Roggors and Klaus Kugel . He has lived in Tübingen since 1982 ; he is married to the artist Susanne Höfler . In 1985 Krisch founded the fusion group Wide Open , his vibraphone quartet in 1993, the contemporary improvisation duo Echoes in 1997 and a piano trio in which he himself sat at the grand piano. Bassist Karoline Höfler plays regularly in his bands . Krisch is also active as a vibraphonist in the band Nevertheless of the trumpeter Claus Stötter and also appears with Charly Antolini and the Bobby Burgess Sound Explosion . Together with Helmut Müller he founded the Jazzclub Tübingen eV in 1984. Together with Bruno Gallo he founded the Jazz & Klassik Tage Tübingen.
