Dmitri Wladimirowitsch Abramovich ( Russian Дмитрий Владимирович Абрамович , English transcription Dmitry Vladimirovich Abramovich , at the FIBT Dmitry Abramovitch ; born October 30, 1982 in Krasnoyarsk ) is a Russian bobsleigh pilot .

Career

Dmitri Abramowitsch started in the World Cup for the first time in January 2006 . He also won the silver medal in two at the Junior World Championship in Igls with Roman Oreschnikow . In the following season he took part in the World Cup as well as in the European Cup and celebrated his first victory there in a foursome in Winterberg . At the 2007 Junior World Championships in Altenberg he was third in a two-man and won the title in a four-man. He then started at the World Championships in St. Moritz and finished 17th in the four.

In the 2007/08 World Cup , Abramowitsch was able to place himself in the foursome in his seven starts between ranks 7 and 15 and was tenth in the overall classification. He also defended his Junior World Championship title in a four-man. At the 2008 World Cup in Altenberg, he finished 5th with the Russian team and 9th in the four-man team; in two he was disqualified.

In the winter of 2008/09 Abramowitsch first started in the European Cup and won four races in four and two races in two in the first half of the season. He then returned to the World Cup team and achieved his first World Cup podium with a third place in a four-man in Igls. At the 2009 Junior World Championships in Königssee, he won the four-man title for the third time in a row and was also the two-man junior world champion with Sergei Prudnikow . He finished the 2009 World Championships in Lake Placid in a two-man rank 8 and in a four-man rank five.

In the 2009/10 World Cup , Abramowitsch achieved his best results in the overall World Cup with 9th place in four and 12th place in two. He represented Russia at the 2010 Olympic Games and was seventh in two with Prudnikow and ninth in four.

From 2010/11 to the end of 2012 Abramowitsch competed in some races in the European Cup and won two races. He only returned to the World Cup in December 2012 and finished seventh in the four in Winterberg as the best place. At the 2013 World Championships finished 11th in the foursome.

In the winter of 2013/14, in addition to the North American Cup and European Cup races, he also took part in the World Cup and came third in the four in Park City . He was unable to qualify for the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi .
