Dmitri Alexandrowitsch Kasionow ( Russian Дмитрий Александрович Казионов ; born May 13, 1984 in Izhevsk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who was last under contract with HK Dynamo Moscow in the Continental Hockey League . His brother Denis is also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Dmitri Kasionov began his career as a hockey player at HK Dynamo Moscow , in whose youth he was active until 2000. Then the attacker was under contract for one season each for THK Tver and HK CSKA Moscow in the Wysschaja Liga , whereupon he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2002 in the fourth round as the 100th player of the Tampa Bay Lightning . Tampa never signed him, however. Instead, the left-shot was on the ice for HK Lada Tolyatti from 2002 to 2005 , before returning to his ex-club HK Dynamo Moscow for the 2005/06 season, with whom he won the IIHF European Champions Cup . After only one year Kasionov moved to their league rivals Ak Bars Kazan , with whom he again won the IIHF European Champions Cup in 2007 and the IIHF Continental Cup in 2008 . In the 2008/09 season , the center was able to win the Gagarin Cup with Kazan for the first time in its career . In the 2009/10 season he was able to repeat this success with Ak Bars Kazan.
After he had started the 2011/12 season at Ak Bars Kazan, Kasionov was transferred to HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk in November 2011 within the KHL . With Metallurg he again won the KHL championship trophy, the Gagarin Cup , in 2014 . After this success he first switched to Lokomotive Yaroslavl , but was not licensed there for the KHL. A few weeks later he was obliged by Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod , where he was in the squad of the same team for the first time in his career with his brother Denis .
International
For Russia Kasionov took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2002 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2004 .
