Denis Alexandrowitsch Kasionow ( Russian Денис Александрович Казионов ; born December 8, 1987 in Perm , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk in the Continental Hockey League since June 2019 . His brother Dmitri is also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Denis Kasionov began his career as an ice hockey player in the junior department of Ischstal Izhevsk . From 2003 to 2005 he played for one year each for the second teams of HK CSKA Moscow and HK Dynamo Moscow in the third-rate Perwaja Liga . Then the winger played for two years for the professional team of HK MWD Tver in the Russian Super League and in the 2007/08 season for Metallurg Novokuznetsk and HK Avangard Omsk . The 2008/09 season he began with Amur Khabarovsk in the newly formed Continental Hockey League . However, he left this after only six games and spent most of the season at BK Mladá Boleslav in the Czech extra league . For BK Mladá he scored three goals and four assists in 24 games.

For the 2009/10 season Kasionov returned to the KHL, in which he ran up as a regular for Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg . In the following season he played another seven games in the KHL for his ex-club Metallurg Novokusnezk and HK Traktor Chelyabinsk , but spent most of the season in the new Russian second division, the Wysschaya Hockey League , with his former junior team Ischstal Ischewsk . For the 2011/12 season he was again committed by Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg from the KHL, before he moved to Severstal Tscherepowets in June 2012 .

From May 2013 Kasionow was under contract with HK Avangard Omsk and won the Nadezhda Cup with this at the end of the 2013/14 season . Before the 2014/15 season he completed the preparatory program at Awangard, before he was released from his contract in early September 2014 and was signed a few days later by Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod . There he met his brother Dmitri , with whom he played in the same team for the first time in his career.

Between 2016 and 2018 Kasionow was under contract with HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk , after which he moved to HK Dinamo Minsk . There he played until December 2018 before returning to Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg. Kasionov has been under contract with Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk since June 2019 .
