Vitaly Georgievich Atjuschow ( Russian Виталий Георгиевич Атюшов * 4 July 1979 in Penza , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a Russian ice hockey player who since August 2019 at HC Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk in the Continental Hockey League is under contract.
Career
Vitaly Atjuschow began his career in 1996 with Krylya Sowetow Moscow . In 1999 he moved to Molot-Prikamje Perm , where he played until 2002. In the 2002 NHL Entry Draft , the Ottawa Senators selected him in the ninth round in 276th place. The 2002/03 season the defender played at Ak Bars Kazan . Atjuschow was under contract with HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk from 2003 and holds the captaincy there . With Metallurg he became Russian champion in 2007 and won the IIHF European Champions Cup a year later .

After eight years in Magnitogorsk Atjuschow left the club after the 2010/11 season and moved within the KHL to the reigning KHL champion Salawat Julajew Ufa . There he was under contract for two years before he was signed by Atlant Moskovskaya Oblast . From July 2014, Atjuschow was under contract with HK Traktor Chelyabinsk and acted there as assistant captain. From August 2015, Atjuschow was under contract with Amur Khabarovsk and acted as team captain between 2016 and 2019. In total, he completed 200 KHL games for the club from the Far East before he was signed by Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk in August 2019 .
International
In the youth field, Atjuschow played for Russia at the U18 European Championship in 1997 , where his team narrowly missed the medal ranks with fourth place.
With the men's national team Atjuschow took part in the World Championships in 2006 , 2007 , 2009 , 2010 and 2011 , with three goals and 16 assists in 43 games. Overall, he was able to win the world title (2009), the runner-up world title (2010) and the bronze medal (2007) with the Russians.
