Jonas Enlund (born November 3, 1987 in Helsinki ) is a Finnish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk in the Continental Hockey League since October 2019 .
Career
Jonas Enlund began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the HIFK Helsinki , for whose B-Juniors and later also A-Juniors he was active from 2002 to 2006. Then he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2006 in the sixth round as a total of 165th player by the Atlanta Thrashers , for which he however never played. Instead, he stayed in his Finnish homeland and joined Tappara Tampere , for which he was on the ice from 2006 to 2010 in the SM-liiga , Finland's top division.
For the 2010/11 season Enlund was signed by HK Sibir Novosibirsk from the Continental Hockey League , for which he completed over 290 KHL games by 2015. In May 2015 he left HK Sibir and switched to Lokomotive Yaroslavl within the KHL . There he was under contract until the end of the year before he was handed over to the SKA Saint Petersburg . Until the end of the season he only played one role in the KHL for the SKA and then left the club. From July 2016 he was under contract with HK CSKA Moscow and in November 2016 moved to Kunlun Red Star in China within the KHL .
In August 2017 he returned to Sibir Novosibirsk and completed a season there. He then played one season for the HK tractor Chelyabinsk . In October 2019 he moved to Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk within the KHL .
International
For Finland , Enlund took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2005 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2007 . From 2005 to 2007 he stood for the U20 national team in a total of nine games in the Mestis , the second Finnish division, on the ice.
