The Dobo Forest Park is a forest area in the West African state of Gambia .

topography

The rectangular area, approximately 1.9 kilometers wide and 2.9 kilometers long, is located in the North Bank Region in the Central Baddibu district . On North Bank Road , Gambia's second most important highway , it is on the section between the towns of Kerewan and Farafenni , the 732 hectare area is about 16 kilometers east of Kerewan and about 40 kilometers west of Farafenni. The Dobo Forest Park is about seven kilometers north as the crow flies from Salikenne . Dobo Forest Park is separated by North Bank Road, 704 acres north of the road and another 28 acres south.

Flora and fauna

An emerald spint
( Merops orientalis )

Most of the wooded area, consisting mainly of low trees, is on the north side of the road.

Numerous birds live in this area, such as the Senegal sea grouse ( Pterocles quadricinctus ), the rare emerald spint ( Merops orientalis ), bush sparrow ( Petronia dentata ), white rump girl ( Serinus leucopygius ) and the helmeted guinea fowl ( Numida meleagris ).
