action
Francisco Camargo is a farmer in the Brazilian state of Goiás . His great passion is music. That's why he wants to make two of his sons real stars. He gives his eldest son Mirosmar an accordion and his second eldest son Emival a guitar and practices singing with them. Due to the economic hardship in the country, the now nine-member family is drawn to the capital of the state of Goiânia , where they live in a run-down barrack. In order to supplement the household budget, the two brothers make music at the city's bus station, and they are soon discovered by a music producer. He offers her father to turn them into a dupla sertaneja (country duo). In the next four months the three will go on tour in the region and celebrate great success. Emival is killed in a tragic traffic accident. Badly hit by the death of his brother, Mirosmar only picked up the accordion years later and gave himself the stage name Zezé di Camargo . He moves to São Paulo with his wife and two children because he hopes to have greater success with his music there. His younger brother Welson follows him to São Paulo and the two found the singing couple Zezé di Camargo e Luciano. Their song É o amor became a number 1 hit and is still the most famous song of the group to this day.
criticism
"The music film" Two Sons of Francisco "intelligently clears up a whole series of Brazilian clichés and shows unknown sides of the Brazilian culture and mentality."
