The shape of this megalithic complex is a polygonal dolmen and in this respect is unique in Sardinia. It is one of the oldest dolmens on the island and dates back to 3000 BC. Dated. The ceiling plate is hexagonal, or irregularly round, and has a diameter of about three meters, with a thickness of 0.3 to 0.35 m. It rests on seven supporting stones that form a polygonal space 2.1 × 1.8 m and 0.8 m high. From the approximately two-meter-long, low corridor, some bearing and cap stones (the latter moved) and the entry stone have been preserved.

The chamber is surrounded by an oval stone circle (4.9 × 4.1 m), which marks the 11 curbs of a no longer existing mound. The rest of a structure, which could have formed another circle or segment, is covered with three preserved plates.

The oldest finds come from the Ozieri culture . These include two chalcedony beads , a bone amulet in the shape of a human head (1.9 cm in diameter), a small necklace with three perforated sandstone objects (4.4 cm in length, 2.1 cm in width) and ceramics from the Bonnanaro culture .
