DomQuartier Salzburg
The DomQuartier Salzburg is a museum complex in the city of Salzburg that has existed in this form since 2014 . It is a conceptual amalgamation and display of buildings as well as secular and sacred art collections around the Salzburg Cathedral and Domplatz .
Duration

- State rooms of the Salzburg Residence
- Residenzgalerie Salzburg
- Salzburg Baroque Museum with the Rossacher Collection (private collection of paintings), in the north oratory of the cathedral
- West gallery with large cathedral organ
- Salzburg Cathedral Museum with cathedral treasure, in the south oratory of the cathedral
- Chamber of Art and Curiosities in the Salzburg Cathedral Museum (in the southern arches of the cathedral)
- Long Gallery (collection of paintings from St. Peter's Abbey )
- St. Peter's Museum
The museum area is around 15,000 m², on which 2000 exhibits can be seen.
Business and marketing
Construction of the museum complex began in 2006. The costs of around 8.5 million euros - including around 800,000 euros for security devices - were mainly borne by the city and state of Salzburg and, to a lesser extent, by the Archabbey of St. Peter, the University of Salzburg and the Cathedral Church Fund.
The cathedral quarter was opened on May 17, 2014; In mid-November 2014, the 100,000th visitor was counted.

In the conception and marketing of the museum, the splendid history of Salzburg at the time of the Salzburg prince-archbishops is connected; the Baroque era is therefore a dominant theme . Mainly topic-related tours, offers for children and young people as well as events and special exhibitions in the residence are advertised. The marketing costs are covered by the budget of the cathedral quarter and by the tourism organizations of the city and state of Salzburg.
