Domenico Bagutti
Domenico Bagutti (* 1760 in Rovio ; † 1837 there ) was a plasterer from Ticino who also worked as a sculptor and architect . He was the son of Bartolomeo Bagutti.
Live and act
Bagutti was originally trained as a plasterer. He left his hometown and worked in Barcelona for Joan Antoni Desvalls i d'Ardena from around 1791 to 1808 . There he created the classical part of the garden called Laberint d'Horta together with Joseph Delvalet according to the ideas of his client . The hedge maze goes back to him , the original plan of which has been preserved.
After 1808, Bagutti was apparently working in Rovio again. There he created stucco work in the chapel of the Madonna di Savona . He also designed the stucco pulpit in the chapel for the poor in the parish church of Santo Stefano.
