Domenico Maietta (born August 3, 1982 in Cariati , Italy ) is an Italian soccer player who is currently under contract with FC Empoli .

Career

He played his first professional games for US Triestina in 2002. After several brief stints at FC Messina , US Avellino and a loan period at AC Perugia , he moved to FC Crotone , where he was under contract from 2004 to 2009 , Made 85 league appearances and made it to Serie B last year . During this time, another loan deal followed over a year with his ex-club, the US Avellino. After a year and a half at Frosinone Calcio , Maietta joined Hellas Verona in 2010 , where he has played since then. He was promoted to Serie B again in 2011 with Hellas and became the new team captain for the 2011/12 season . Only two years later they made the leap into the first division . Maietta played his first Serie A game on August 24, 2013 in a 2-1 win over AC Milan .

From 2014 to 2018 Maietta played 90 league games for FC Bologna . In January 2018 he moved to FC Empoli .
