Domenico Pecile

Domenico Simone Pecile (born October 9, 1922 in San Vito di Fagagna , Province of Udine , Italy , † June 29, 2011 in Udine ) was Bishop of Latina-Terracina-Sezze-Priverno .

Life

Domenico Simone Pecile was ordained a priest on July 11, 1948 . He was active in the parishes in Socchieve and Feletto, from 1951 chaplain in Cividale del Friuli. From 1955 to 1962 he was secretary to Emilio Pizzoni , bishop of the Latina-Terracina-Sezze-Priverno diocese. During this time he was also assistant to the diocesan youth of Catholic Action and doctoral student in canon law at the Lateran University . After returning to Udine he was Chancellor of the Diocese, Archpriest and Pastor of the Cathedral of Udine ( Cattedrale di Santa Maria Annunziata ) and Vice President of the Ecclesiastical Court in Triveneto.

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Terracina-Latina, Priverno and Sezze on December 22, 1983 . The Pope personally donated to him on January 6, 1984 at St. Peter's Basilica , the episcopal ordination ; Co-consecrators were Eduardo Martínez Somalo , substitute for the State Secretariat , and Duraisamy Simon Lourdusamy , Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples .

On June 27, 1998, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation. He lived in Rome and was Vicar of the Lateran Basilica .
