Dominique Marie Joseph Blanchet IdP (born February 15, 1966 in Cholet , France ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Belfort-Montbéliard .

Life

Dominique Blanchet received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Angers on June 27, 1999 through Bishop Jean Orchampt .

Blanchet belongs to the secular institute Istituto del Prado . Until his appointment as bishop he was vicar general of the diocese of Angers.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Belfort-Montbéliard on May 21, 2015 . The Archbishop of Besançon, Jean-Luc Bouilleret , donated him episcopal ordination on July 12th of the same year. Co- consecrators were his predecessor Claude Schockert and the Bishop of Angers, Emmanuel Delmas . In April 2019, Blanchet was elected Vice-President of the French Bishops' Conference.
