Jean-Luc Marie Maurice Louis Bouilleret (born October 28, 1953 in Arbois , Jura department , France ) is Archbishop of Besançon .

Life

Jean-Luc Bouilleret, son of a winemaker, studied at the seminary of Dijon and received on 28 June 1981, the priestly ordination . He then worked as a pastor in Rome until 1982 , where he lived since 1978 and continued his studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University . In 1982 he returned to France and was professor of moral theology at the Dijon seminary until 1993. In addition, Bouilleret was active as a parish priest. From 1996 to 2003 he was spiritual at the seminary at the University of Lyon and taught moral theology at the theological faculty there.

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Amiens on March 10, 2003 . The episcopal ordination donated him the emeritus Bishop of Amiens, Jacques Noyer , on May 11th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Thierry Jordan , Archbishop of Reims , and Yves Patenôtre , Bishop of Saint-Claude . As a motto he chose Sapientia Humilitas .

Pope Francis appointed Bouilleret Archbishop of Besançon on October 10, 2013. He was inducted into office on November 17 of the same year.
