Dominique Klein

Dominique Klein (born May 19,  1981 in Monrovia , Liberia ) is a former German basketball player . The 1.98 meter long winger was under contract with several second division clubs during his career.

career

Klein played in the youth of the Hamburg club TSG Bergedorf and also made the leap into the men's team (then regional league).

In the 2000/01 season he wore the shirt of the second division TSV Quakenbrück and then went to the United States, where he studied and played basketball at Campbell University from 2001 to 2005 . For Campbell's university team, nicknamed "the fighting camels", he booked 98 missions with an average of 6.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per encounter during this time. In the 2004/05 season he was Campbell's team captain. He studied psychology and communication science at the university in the US state of North Carolina .

Klein returned to his home country in 2005 and strengthened the second division TSV Nördlingen in the 2005/06 season . In the 2006/07 season he first played for ART Düsseldorf (also 2nd Bundesliga) and moved to BV Chemnitz 99 within the league during the season .

The winger opened the 2007/08 season as a team member of the Itzehoe Eagles  (Regionalliga), in spring 2008 he returned to Nördlingen (now in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA ) and won the championship title in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA with the team. In 2010 he obtained a master's degree in peace and security policy from the University of Hamburg .

In the 2010/11 season, Klein was a player in the regional league club BBC White Devils Cottbus, from 2011 to 2015 he was in the squad of SSV Lokomotive Bernau (first in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB , then in the regional league) and became team captain there. Professionally, he worked as a coach, consultant, Qi Gong teacher and employee of a Berlin- based creative agency.
