Domiziana Giordano
Domiziana Giordano (born September 4, 1959 in Rome ) is an Italian artist and actress .
Life
Domiziana Giordano grew up in a family of artists and developed an interest in art and film at an early age. She studied at various theater schools, including the Accademia nazionale d'arte drammatica "Silvio D'Amico" in Rome and the New York Film Academy . After completing her studies, she initially worked as a photographer and assistant director .
She had her first appearance as an actress in the film My Friends by Mario Monicelli . In 1983 she played the lead female role in Andrei Tarkowski's film Nostalghia .
Domiziana Giordano soon got leading roles in films by other internationally recognized directors such as Nicolas Roeg , Jean-Luc Godard , Mauro Bolognini , Neil Jordan , Ken McMullen and many others. At the 1986 Fantasporto Festival she was honored for her role as Leon Trotsky's daughter Sinaida Volkova in Ken McMullen's film Zina . She has also appeared in films such as Nouvelle Vague (1990, with Alain Delon among others ) by Jean-Luc Godard, Interview with a Vampire (1994) by Neil Jordan and Il quaderno della spesa (2003) by Tonino Cervi .
In addition to her work in the film industry, she is also known for her commitment as a photographer. Domiziana Giordano was nominated for the Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie photography festival in 2002 in Arles .
