Don Dillaway

Donald "Don" Dillaway (born March 17, 1903 in New York , † November 18, 1982 in West Lake , California ) was an American actor.

life and career

Donald Dillaway appeared in over 100 film and television productions between 1930 and 1967. He had his first successes in the 1920s as an actor on Broadway . In 1930 he was selected for a role in the crime film Dangerous Youth . In the early days of his film career, Dillaway had a few major appearances, for example at the side of Jean Harlow in Warned Before Blondes (1931) and as soldier Eddie Smith in the Laurel and Hardy feature film The Devil Brothers (1932). From the 1940s onwards, Dillaway's roles were mostly of a smaller nature. In the internationally known and successful film The Caine was her fate with leading actor Humphrey Bogart , Dillaway took a small supporting role. Also in the B-movie Tarantula by director Jack Arnold , which enjoys cult status with fans. From the beginning of the 1950s, Dillaway appeared increasingly on American television. Towards the end of his acting career, mainly employed in television, Dillaway appeared in well-known television series such as Maverick and Bonanza , especially several times in the series Perry Mason .

He had his last television appearance in 1967. He died in 1982 at the age of 79.
