Donald Baechler

Donald Baechler (born November 22, 1956 in Hartford , Connecticut ) is an American artist.

life and work

Donald Baechler studied from 1974 to 1976 at the Maryland Institute , College of Art, in Baltimore , from 1977 to 1978 at the Cooper Union in New York City and from 1978 to 1979 at the Academy of Fine Arts ( Städelschule ) in Frankfurt am Main. In 2004 he taught as a lecturer at the International Summer Academy for Fine Arts in Salzburg . Baechler lives and works in New York City .

His sculptures and paintings are represented in numerous public and private collections, for example the Museum of Modern Art (New York), the Whitney Museum of American Art (New York), the Guggenheim Museum (New York), the Museum of Contemporary Art ( Los Angeles), in the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), in the Center Georges Pompidou , Musée National d'Art Moderne (Paris).
