Donald Suxho (born February 21, 1976 in Korça , Albania ) is an American volleyball player of Albanian origin.

Career

Suxho was initially active as a footballer and swimmer . In 1987 he started his career with his hometown club Skënderbeu Korça . He was part of the junior national team and won the Albanian championship in 1996. In the same year he went to the United States to study. From 1997 to 2000 he played on the University of Southern California's volleyball team . In the summer of 2000 he took part in the AVP tour as a beach volleyball player. In January 2001 the setter made his debut in the US national team , with which he played in the world league . After a season with the Polish club AZS UWM Olsztyn , Suxho returned to the AVP tour in the summer of 2002 and trained a girls' team in California and some beach volleyball players. In 2003 he won the NORCECA championship with the national team . He then moved to Erdemirspor Ereğli in Turkey for two years . In 2004 the setter took part in the Olympic tournament , which the USA finished in fourth place. The following year succeeded in defending the title at the continental championship. He then worked for one season for the Greek first division club Olympiacos Piraeus . In 2006, Suxho played with the US team at the World Cup in Japan . In March 2007 he pulled a partial tear of the Achilles tendon at the Italian club Gabeca Montichiari . After being under contract with EAP Patras in Greece and Arkasspor İzmir in Turkey for the following two seasons , he returned to Italy in 2009 and played for Prisma Taranto . 2010/11 Suxho was active in the Russian league at Dinamo-Jantar Kaliningrad before he was signed by Sisley Treviso . In 2012 he moved to the Argentine club Drean Bolívar . He was in the US squad for the London Olympics .
