Donatien Ph. A. A Fer (born January 30, 1836 in Aubonne ; † April 16, 1912 in La Chaux-de-Fonds , reformed , entitled to reside in Chéserex and Corsier-sur-Vevey ) was a Swiss politician ( liberal / radical ) and watch manufacturer .

biography

Donat Fer, son of Philippe Charles Louis Fer, owned a watch factory in La Chaux-de-Fonds. To this end, he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bureau de contrôle des ouvrages d'or et d'argent in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Donat Fer was married to Fanny nee Veuve. He died on April 16, 1912 at the age of 76 in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

Fer, a member of the Radical Party, was elected to the city ​​council ( executive ) of La Chaux-de-Fonds at the beginning of his political career in 1878 , in which he was represented until 1889. He later belonged to the General Council ( legislature ) from 1892 to 1895 . At the same time, he sat at the cantonal level from 1881 to 1888 and from 1893 to 1895 in the Neuchâtel Grand Council . After the parliamentary elections in 1893 , he was also a member of the National Council at the federal level .

After Donat Fer was charged with embezzlement in May 1895, he had to resign from all political offices.
