Dontari Poe (* 18th August 1990 in Memphis , Tennessee ) is an American American football poker players on the position of the defensive tackles . He plays for the Carolina Panthers in the National Football League (NFL).
Early years
Poe went to high school in his native Memphis, Tennessee, USA. He later went to the University of Memphis between 2009 and 2011 . On December 23, 2011, Poe announced that he would be participating in the 2012 NFL Draft .
NFL
Kansas City Chiefs
Poe was selected eleventh in the first round by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2012 NFL draft . On July 26, 2012, he signed a four-year contract with the Chiefs. In his first season he played all 16 games of the season as a starter, also because Anthony Toribio , who would have been set as the nose tackle , injured his ankle before the start of the season. This season he has not yet recorded a sack , but came up with 38 tackles . His first quarterback sack he succeeded on the first day of the 2013 season in the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars . After the season he was elected to the Pro Bowl for the first time . He succeeded in doing this for the second time a year later.
On the 11th day of the 2015 NFL season against the San Diego Chargers , he ran a touchdown , which can be seen as unusual for a defensive lineman. He also managed to force his first fumble this season .
On December 25, 2016, in the game against the Denver Broncos , he even managed to throw a touchdown pass. Poe faked a run play and threw the ball to tight end Demetrius Harris .
In six years with the Chiefs, he managed 200 tackles, 13.0 sacks, twelve defended passes and two forced fumbles.
Atlanta Falcons
On March 16, 2017, Poe signed a one-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons .
Carolina Panthers
On March 15, 2018, Poe signed a three-year contract with the Carolina Panthers .
