Building history and building description

The half-timbered building from the 17th century has - later enlarged - windows that touch the frame wood. The straight-cheeked square tower is free-standing and the substructure is clad with boards. He wears a helmet that is square and ends in a slim octagonal tip.

The interior of the church was reached before 1945 through the south side. Today the entrance door is located on the north side under the gallery , which meant that space could be gained.

From the altar from the year 1698 only the lateral baroque carving remains. The middle field is wearing pictures again today. The oak pulpit stands free. It bears the year 1683 and is inlaid with different colored woods.

The pews are adorned with oil paintings, as are the fields of the gallery, which show biblical scenes that relate to motifs of fishing and seafaring: the flood , the passage through the Red Sea, Jonah and the whale, Petri fish haul and Jesus walks on the Lake genezareth. They are just pictures of a fisherman's church .

Between the paintings is the year 1734.

Before 1945, the Seelow church was adorned with a wrought iron chandelier with two twelve arms, of which the six candle-bearing arms have been preserved. The six arms with tulips (the flower of the weizack ) are missing. Under the candlestick there is a sign with the year 1770.

The baptismal angel was once famous, not flying, but floating calmly, a palm tree in the right hand and a baptismal bowl in the left. He was one of the most beautiful baptismal angels in Pomerania.

The church building was fundamentally renovated in 2005.

On the south side of the church there was once a huge, centuries-old linden tree, which was also called "Eselslinde". At that time, the monks of Kolbatz Monastery tied their donkeys here during mass. The linden tree did not survive a storm in 1944.
