History and architecture
The stone church with the characteristic staggering of rectangular nave, recessed, square choir with apse and west transverse tower probably dates from around 1200. The masonry of the nave and choir is made of almost unquarified, only externally smoothed field stones in layers. In contrast, the tower is made of well-squared masonry.
After a partial collapse in the Middle Ages, it received two sloping retaining walls in the west in monastery format bricks . The gables of the nave and choir were also renewed in brick; the large arched windows are probably from the end of the 19th century. The southern arched portal and the apse windows have been preserved in their original form, a priest's door in the choir has renovations on the brick walls. A former portal on the north side is walled up. The interior is flat and was restored in 1976. A large, now closed, arched opening mediates between the tower and ship. A wide round arched triumphal arch connects the choir with the nave. A gallery is built into the west.
Furnishing
The main piece of equipment is the altarpiece from around 1700. The center is framed by cartilage cheeks and top with medallions, the main picture shows the crucifixion, below the Last Supper is shown. The polygonal, wooden pulpit with corner pillars was created towards the end of the 17th century. The organ is a work by Gottfried Wilhelm Baer from 1865 with eight stops on a manual and pedal . It was restored in 2001 by Rainer Wolter .
