Steamy Windows is a song by the American singer Tina Turner . The pop-rock song was released from the album Foreign Affair in November 1989 as the second single, and in some areas as the third single .
Origin and content
Steamy Windows was written by Tony Joe White and produced by Dan Hartman for Turner's Foreign Affair album. The lyrics are about a love scene in a vehicle with the windows fogging up. The peppy pop-rock song is country- like orchestrated with harmonica and electric guitar .
Publication and reception
The song was released in November 1989 via Capitol Records as the second single from the album in the US, continental Europe and Australia and in February 1990 as the third single in the UK and Ireland . In the latter areas, I Don't Wanna Lose You was released first. On the B-side of Steamy Windows is the song Bold and Reckless . Steamy Windows also appeared on many compilation and live albums.
Steamy Windows became a hit in many countries around the world, including Belgium ( Flanders , fifth place), Ireland (seventh place), Italy (eleven place) and Great Britain, where it reached number 13. In Australia it came in at number 34, in New Zealand at number 30. In the Billboard Hot 100 it reached number 39. Steamy Windows also reached higher chart positions in German-speaking countries , for example in Germany , where the title came in at number 29, and in Austria with a number 18 and in Switzerland 14th place.
