The church belongs to the parish of Zossen Fläming the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Oberlausitz . The design goes back to a normal church by Karl Friedrich Schinkel .

location

The old main road leads from the northwest in a southeast direction through the village. In the southern area of the historic village green, the church stands on a plot that is not fenced .

history

The structure was erected between 1833 and 1835. It replaced a previous building that was first mentioned in 1571. In the 1960s, the parish had the church furnishings changed. Among other things, the originally existing horseshoe gallery was shortened to the western part. In 2000 the church tower received a radio clock . In 2002 the sidewalks on the village green were redeveloped and two paths to the church were paved. Thanks to donations, a small paved area could be created south of the building.

Building description

West tower

The building was essentially made of bricks , which were then plastered . The builders erected a circumferential plinth that contrasts with the rest of the building in color. The choir is straight, not moved in and windowless on its east side. At the transition to the roof is a circumferential haunch . In the gable, which is also plastered, is a small arched window in the middle.

The nave is comparatively simple. On the north and south sides there are four large round arched windows that extend almost the entire height of the long wall. The ship is equipped with a simple gable roof covered.

To the west is the church tower, which was built as a campanile and connected to the ship via a narrow gate. The tower has a square floor plan and is strongly drawn in opposite the ship. It can be entered from the west through an arched gate. On the north and south side there is another arched window on the ground floor . The middle floor takes up the cove of the ship as a cornice . Above this is a square panel on the north, south and west sides , in which a tower clock is embedded on the north and south sides. It is missing on the west side. On the east side is a small gate that leads through a corridor into the west gable of the ship. There is a small gate there too. Above is the bell floor. On all four sides there is an arched sound arcade , above it a flat roof with a cross.

Furnishing

The church furnishings are all from the 1960s. From the original pulpit altar , only the pulpit basket is preserved. The fifth is bricked and has a cast iron top that was made at the beginning of the 19th century. In the western part there is a gallery.

A memorial to the southeast of the church commemorates those who died in the First World War .
