Klockow village church (Galenbeck)
The Protestant village church Klockow is an early Gothic stone church in the district Klockow of Galenbeck in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It belongs to the Schwichtenberg-Gehren parish in the Neustrelitz provost in the Stargard church region of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany (Northern Church) .
History and architecture
The Klockow village church is a flat-roofed field stone building with a retracted, once arched choir and a sacristy in the north with barrel vaults from the third quarter of the 13th century. A retracted west tower with a simple ogival portal was built around 1300 and completed at the beginning of the 18th century with a half-timbered tower with an octagonal top and a pyramid helmet. Around the same time, a vestibule was added to the south and the windows were changed to be arched. Only the east windows are still in the shape of the construction time. The east gable with pinnacles made of brick dates from the second half of the 19th century.
Furnishing
The main pieces of equipment were renewed in 1709. This concerns the two-storey altarpiece with an oval painting depicting Gethsemane in the altar extract . On the main floor, a relief representation of St. George fighting the dragon from the 16th century was reused. A crucifixion group from the same period concludes.
The pulpit with a crown-like sound cover, the pastors' and patronage stalls and the box stalls painted with intercessions date from 1709. A medieval sacrament niche with door and a bell from the 14th century have been preserved. Another bell was cast by Michael Begun in Friedland in 1733.
The door of the south portal with fittings dates from the 15th / 16th centuries. Century. Instead of the organ there is a harmonium. Finally, two grave slabs from 1749 and 1751 with the von Oertzen coat of arms should be mentioned.
