Village church Lübbersdorf
The Protestant village church Lübbersdorf is an early Gothic stone church in the district Lübbersdorf of Galenbeck in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It belongs to the Evangelical Church Community of Friedland in the Neustrelitz Propstei in the Stargard church region of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany (Northern Church) .
History and architecture
The village church of Lübbersdorf is a stately stone church that was dendrochronologically dated to 1264. The church is unusually large for a village church in its region. It is vaulted with domical vaults in the Westphalian style, which is also not common in this region. It consists of a retracted rectangular choir with a sacristy to the north and a slightly younger nave with a square plan and a transverse rectangular west tower of the same width. In 1776 the tower received a half-timbered tower with a lantern and a slim helmet; The plastered east gable was probably built around the same time. The windows are arranged in staggered groups of three, on the south side of the choir under an overarching arch; the exterior view is somewhat impaired by subsequent plastering. The reveals of the window groups and portals as well as those of the round window in the west wall are made of brick. The laterally offset west portal probably does not correspond to the original condition.
The nave and choir each have their own triumphal arch . Both components are closed off by an eight-part vault. The nave shows a domical vault with a crown ring, in the choir there is a dome vault with ribs and an eight-part rose window. The sacristy is closed by two eight-part ridge vaults.
The spire had to be removed in 2006 because of the acute risk of collapse. After renovation work, it was put back in 2008. In 2009 the roof of the choir and nave was renewed.
Furnishing
The artistically valuable carved altar from the end of the 15th century shows the unicorn hunt in the shrine , flanked by saints. The wings are decorated with four reliefs from the life of Mary.
The triumphal cross group also comes from the end of the 15th century. A painting from 1729 in a column-flanked wooden structure shows three passion scenes and probably once formed the altarpiece. A small wooden crucifix dates from the 15th century. The church received a cast iron crucifix in 1854.
The von Oertzen family's patronage chair from 1827 was redesigned in 1866. The organ is a work by Barnim Grüneberg from 1866 with seven stops on a manual and pedal .
A silver-gold-plated chalice from the 19th century and a silver-gold-plated paten from the 18th century as well as two other pewter chalices from the 18th and 19th centuries form the liturgical vessels. A pair of pewter candlesticks was made in 1622. A bell was cast in 1673 by Georg Köckritz from Stettin.
