Evangelical Lutheran Church

The listed Evangelical Lutheran village church in Lengfeld in the municipality of Lengfeld in the Hildburghausen district in Thuringia stands on a small hill and is surrounded by a two to three meter high wall from the cemetery area.

The church of Lengfeld was originally the mother church for the surrounding villages of Veßra , Zollbrück , Neuhof , Ahlstädt , Keulrod , Bischofrod , Eichenberg and Grub . The year it was built is unknown.

The lower part of the tower and the choir and the sacristy with barrel vaults are of Romanesque origin. Ten consecration crosses were exposed on the walls .

The organ from the time before 1770 was made by the Hildburghausen organ builder Johann Christian Dotzauer .
