The church belongs to the parish of Zossen Fläming the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Oberlausitz .

location

Landstrasse 715 runs through the village as a village road in a west-east direction. In the center of the village, the church stands south of this connection on a plot of land with a church cemetery , which is enclosed with a wall made of unhewn and non-layered field stones .

history

The building was built in the first half of the 13th century and probably already had an apse at that time . This was canceled in 1967 at the latest. At this time the western gable wall and the tower wall were renewed. In the 19th century the windows were enlarged “ baroque ”; at a later date the roof tower was renewed. In 2009, a development association was founded that has been committed to maintaining and renovating the building since then.

Building description

View from the southwest

The building was essentially made of field stones, which were hardly hewn and partly layered. Reddish bricks were mostly used for repair work . The choir is straight and moved in. At the end of the choir are two small arched windows; the gable above was made of half-timbered construction and then covered with slate. There is a wooden door offset slightly to the south. On the north and south sides of the choir there is a large arched window, the reveal of which is framed with brick. The eastern part of the masonry is noticeably more irregular than the western part. It is therefore conceivable that there were two narrow windows on both sides at an earlier time. On the north side there is also a clogged priest gate in the western area , which could come from the construction period.

The nave also has a rectangular floor plan. On the north side of the nave there is an arched portal in the western area, followed by a large and a slightly smaller arched window. To the west is a raised and small window, which could also come from the construction period. On the south side, in the eastern area, there is a small segmental arched window, followed by a rectangular window roughly in the middle of the nave. Both are complemented by two smaller windows arranged one above the other in the western area.

The choir and nave have a simple gable roof . In the western part there is a small church tower with a square floor plan. It also has a simple hipped roof with a cross. The west side of the ship is windowless; the gable and the tower clad with slate.

Furnishing

View into the nave

The church furnishings come from the first half of the 19th century. The building has a flat roof inside. A medieval bell hangs in the tower . A baptismal angel specially made for the church has been hanging in the church since 2016 . The church leader of the church district Zossen-Fläming suspects that it might be the youngest baptismal angel in Brandenburg.
