description

building

The Romanesque choir tower church was renovated in 1580. This is indicated by an inscription . Further repairs were carried out in the 17th century and most recently in 1974, when substantial parts of the equipment were lost. An octagonal attachment with a baroque tail hood is located above the square tower substructure . In each of its fields there is a pointed arch window under an oculus .

Interior and equipment

The flat-roofed nave of the church is separated from the choir by a semicircular choir arch on templates . In the nave there is a horseshoe gallery and a baroque altar cross. The pulpit altar with side passages was probably built after a fire in 1677 or later. The organ with a neo-Romanesque prospect comes from the former church in Steingrimma . A painting depicting the Lamentation of Christ dates from the 19th century.

Others

The church's bronze bell was cast in 1731. The remains of a Romanesque residential tower border the west wall of the building .
