Obersdorf village church
The Protestant village church of Obersdorf is located in the Obersdorf district of the city of Sangerhausen in the Mansfeld-Südharz district in Saxony-Anhalt . It belongs to the parish area Oberndorf in Kirchenkreis Eisleben-Sömmerda the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
history
The village church is located in the dominant position of the former village in the middle of the district and is surrounded by a large churchyard enclosed by a wall .
The east tower of the choir tower church is of medieval origin. The nave was rebuilt at the instigation of Duke Johann Adolf II of Saxony-Weißenfels, the owner of the Obersdorf Apanagegut, between 1727 and 1729 instead of a previous building. It is equipped with a barrel ceiling . In the room there is a pulpit altar and a patronage box . The Lords of Morungen also played a major role, because they are laid to rest in the church's crypt .
The organ
The organ was built and installed in 1884 as Opus 54 by Wilhelm Rühlmann from Zörbig . It has 14 registers , two manuals and a pedal , slider chests , mechanical action and is a remarkable country organ in terms of architectural history, but unfortunately it is no longer playable at the moment.
