Päwesin village church
The village church in Päwesin is a listed Protestant church in the district of Potsdam-Mittelmark (Kirchenkreis Mittelmark-Brandenburg). Together with the churches in Bagow , Brielow , Butzow , Gortz , Ketzür , Lünow , Radewege , Riewend , Roskow and Weseram , it forms the parish area Päwesin.
Building
The single-nave aisle church was built in 1727/28 in the Baroque style. The plans come from J. Chr. Heins. The nave, which is covered with a gable roof , ends on three sides in the east. To the west is the not ship-wide ("drawn in") square tower with a curved dome. The weather vane on the top shows the year 1728.
Inside, the church has a wooden pulpit altar and an open wooden horseshoe gallery along the rear wall and the two side walls in simple baroque shapes that date from the time the church was built. The wooden surfaces are coffered and not colored, but rather convey a strict spatial impression through their dark wood visibility.
The equipment includes two oil paintings, Sacrifice of Isaac ( Gen 22.1-19 EU ) and Sacrificial Death of Jesus , which hang correspondingly on the side walls at the transition to the choir room. The front window on the north wall was made in 1904 and depicts the homecoming of the prodigal son ( Lk 15.11-32 EU ) in colored glass painting .
organ
The probably first organ in the church was built in 1813 by the Treuenbrietzen master baker Johann Tobias Turley as his second work. In the 1930s the instrument was extensively restored by the organ builder Alexander Schuke .
