The Weseram village church is located in the Weseram district in the Roskow municipality in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district in Brandenburg . The church is a listed building. The church is located on the south of Hauptstraße, at the corner of Bahnhofstraße, in the middle of a former churchyard. Today the church belongs to the parish Päwesin in the Protestant church district of Mittelmark-Brandenburg.

The church

The Protestant church was built from 1752 to 1753, making the building the oldest surviving building in Weseram. It can be assumed that there was a previous building, but nothing is known about this building. In 2004 the church was renovated.

It is a plastered hall building, the west tower has a square floor plan. The top of the tower is a pyramid roof with a top with a ball and a weather vane. There are five windows on the sides of the church, with a segmental arch at the top . The entrance is on the west side, above the entrance is a round arched roof as decoration and an elliptical window.

Inside there is a pulpit altar from the first half of the 18th century. The polygonal pulpit shows the four evangelists and Peter and Paul between winding columns. In the top of the pulpit altar is a painting with a crucifixion scene , the sound cover is attached directly to the ceiling. A tombstone for Anna Sophia von der Hagen, who died in 1729, is attached to the wall. The tombstone shows an inscription cartouche held by angels. The cartouche also shows putti and a portrait medallion .

The bells are possibly from a previous building. They date from 1516 and 1448 and are made of cast iron . The organ on the west gallery dates from 1870, it was built by the master organ builder August Ferdinand Wäldner from Halle an der Saale . In 2008 the organ was renovated and refurbished by Jörg Stegmüller.
