The Evangelical Lutheran village church in Schadewitz is a listed church building in Schadewitz , a district of the community of Schönborn in the Elbe-Elster district in southern Brandenburg . Building description and history

Originally there was a timber frame church on the site. Today's Schadwitz Church is a simple, plastered hall building made of field stone with a three-sided east end from 1784. In the west of the building there is a slate roof tower with an octagonal tail hood on a square base.

The interior of the church is characterized by a three-sided gallery . It has a construction period equipment, consisting of a wooden pulpit altar , baptism and parish chair .

A small bell that originally existed in Torgau was melted down during the First World War in 1914 . After the fall of the Wall in 1996, the church roof was re-covered.

The Schadewitz parish belongs to the parish Tröbitz in the parish of Niederlausitz of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia . She founded in 1991 together with the parishes of Tröbitz and Schilda the Diakoniestation Doberlug-Kirchhain .
