biography

Until her Abitur in 1993, Doriana Tchakarova attended a music high school in Varna. From 1993 to 2001 she completed her bachelor's and master's degree in piano with Fernande Kaeser at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts, as well as postgraduate studies with Friedemann Rieger and in the lied class of Conrad Richter. Since October 2003 she has been teaching there for voice accompaniment.

As a pianist, she worked with partners such as Ulrike Sonntag , Nathalie Karl, Matthias Klink , Sylvia Koncza, Thomas Volle, Mirella Hagen, Turid Karlsen , Patrizia Piras, Reiner Holthaus, Thomas Pfeiffer , Sarah Wegener and often with the SWR vocal ensemble . With the sisters Judith and Felicitas Erb (both soprano) she produced CDs with songs and duets by Louis Spohr and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Fanny Hensel .

From 2018 to 2020 she formed a successful lied duo with the baritone Konstantin Krimmel . Starting with a joint 1st prize at the “Rising Stars Grand Prix International Music Competition” in Berlin in May 2018, she accompanied him in other competitions and in song recitals at home and abroad. The common repertoire covered a wide range of works from the 18th to 20th centuries. These included songs by Claude Debussy , Charles Ives , Carl Loewe , Gustav Mahler , Joseph Marx , Franz Schubert , Robert Schumann , Ralph Vaughan Williams and Hugo Wolf . The international activities of this duo were recitals at the Oxford Lieder Festival and the Schubertiada Vilabertran in the fourth quarter of 2019 . The CD "Saga", which was released in September 2019, garnered critical voices that praised the cooperation between the two artists and the convincing design of the romantic ballads presented.
