Doris Klawunde (* 1958 in Hanover ) is a former German politician . She has been the deputy president of the Hanover region since 2001, deputy chairwoman of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group in the regional assembly , its health and social policy spokeswoman and chairwoman of the Hanover regional association of the Greens.

Life

Doris Klawunde was a member of the Lehrte City Council from 1992 to 2001 , where she also resided. The entrepreneur and widowed mother of four children held the office of deputy mayor of the city of Lehrte from 1996 to 2001 and was also a member of the district council of Hanover . In 2001 she was elected deputy regional president and since then has been deputy parliamentary group leader of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in the Hanover region as well as their health and social policy spokesperson.

In her candidacy for regional president, Doris Klawunde described her most important goals as "creating a family-friendly region, fighting unemployment, more climate protection and regional health care for everyone".

In February 2012 Doris Klawunde was elected chairwoman of the Hanover regional association of the Greens together with the Lower Saxony state parliament member Enno Hagenah .

For personal reasons, Klawunde resigned from her political office on June 19, 2017.

Honors

Region President Hauke ​​Jagau honored the former regional representative for her longstanding voluntary work on September 13, 2017 with the award of the Hanover Region's gold badge .
