Dorothea Thiess

Dorothea Thiess , also Dorothea Thieß or Dorothea Thies (born May 17, 1898 in Nakel near Posen ; † 1973 ) was a German actress .

Life

She received her training from Max Reinhardt and initially appeared on stages in the German provinces (e.g. at the Bamberg City Theater under the direction of Hans Willcken) after the First World War .

She made her first film appearance in 1932 in Scandal in Parkstrasse . Thiess' roles were mostly very small, with the exception of her first film in Anna and Elisabeth , April, April , she played somewhat larger supporting roles ! and summer nights .

From 1948 to 1952 she was engaged at the Hebbel Theater . Then she worked at the Vaganten stage and (from 1961) at the Theater am Kurfürstendamm , gave guest performances and from 1962 took on several television roles. Thiess remained connected to the theater to the end, and immediately before her death she belonged to the Kleiner Ensemble, a guest theater in Berlin, under the direction of Karl Spanners.
