Dorothee Diethild Haroske (born September 3, 1968 in Jena ) is a German mathematician and university lecturer in the field of analysis .

Life

Haroske passed the Abitur in 1987 at the Carl Zeiss Special School in her hometown of Jena . She then studied mathematics at the Friedrich Schiller University there with a stay abroad at the English University of Sussex after the fall of the GDR . She graduated with a diploma in 1992 and did her doctorate in 1995 , also in Jena, supervised by Hans Triebel . Haroske received the Rector's doctoral award for her dissertation, which was graded summa cum laude . She was also honored by the university for her habilitation in 2002.

From 1992 Haroske was employed at the Jena University. In 2004 she worked as part of the Sofia Kowalewskaja visiting professorship at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern . In the following years she also taught on a substitute basis at the Universities of Marburg and Hanover . In 2010 Haroske was appointed adjunct professor for analysis in Jena. From 2013 to 2016 she also acted as the university’s equal opportunities officer . In the 2018 summer semester, Haroske was appointed professor for functional analysis at the University of Rostock , but switched to the Jena University as professor for function rooms in the 2018/2019 winter semester.

The main focus of her research is on the theory of function spaces , fractal analysis and approximation theory .

From 2003 to 2010 she received a Heisenberg grant from the DFG .
