Doug Drexler is a makeup artist and special effects artist .

Life

Drexler began his film staff career in 1983 as an uncredited special effects makeup artist on the horror film Desire by Tony Scott . He subsequently worked as a makeup artist and special effects artist on a number of Hollywood productions , including Starman , Manhunter - Red Dragon and A Fateful Affair . In 1991 , he and John Caglione Jr. won the Oscar for Best Make-up and Best Hairstyles for Warren Beatty's comic adaptation Dick Tracy . In addition, both of them won the award in the best mask category for Dick Tracy at the BAFTA Film Awards held in the same year .

In addition to his involvement in the film Drexler was for television worked, especially for science fiction - franchise Star Trek .
