The Dover Seaways is a ferry of the DFDS Seaways shipping company that was commissioned as Maersk Dover in 2006 and has been operating under this name on the Dover to Dunkerque route since 2010 .

history

The Maersk Dover was launched on October 24, 2005 under construction number 1574 in the Samsung Shipyard in Geoje . The delivery to the Norfolkline took place after the transfer trip on June 21, 2006, the commissioning between Dunkerque and Dover on July 23, 2006. The ship was the third and last delivered unit of the Mærsk D-class .

In July 2010, the Norfolkline was taken over by DFDS and dissolved. The Maersk Dover got the new name Dover Seaways , nothing changed on the route from Dover to Dunkerque.

On November 9, 2014, the Dover Seaways collided with the harbor wall while casting off in Dover. Several passengers were slightly injured, four of whom had to be treated in a hospital. The cause of the accident was a navigation error. After repairs, the ship was able to resume service on November 21, 2014.
