The Dr. Kurt Neven DuMont Medal is an award for the communications and media industry. It is awarded by the West German Academy for Communication .

The publisher Kurt Neven DuMont was one of the founders and sponsors of the former “Rheinisch-Westfälische Werbefachschule”, which was renamed “West German Academy for Communication Cologne” in 1991. In 1975 the headmaster at the time, Zankl, suggested an award that should serve the memory of the founding president. Personalities or institutions of public life who have made a special contribution to the development of the communication or media industry are to be awarded this medal every year. Alfred Neven DuMont took up this suggestion and had a medal designed.

The Cologne artist and medalist Agatha Kill won first prize in 1976 in the “Competition for the design and execution of the Dr. Kurt Neven DuMont Medal ”. The medal, cast in bronze, has a diameter of 119 mm. It bears the inscription “Dr. Kurt Neven DuMont Medal "and on the reverse" For special services to advertising - Advertising Academy Cologne ". The medal was first awarded on the twentieth anniversary of the advertising school in 1976.
