Agatha Kill

Agatha Kill (born April 19, 1948 in Bonn ) is a German sculptor , medalist and jewelry designer.

Life

Agatha Kill was born in Bonn. From 1970 to 1977 she studied sculpture as well as precious metal and jewelry design at the Cologne Werkschulen / University of Applied Sciences for Art and Design with professors Hans Karl Burgeff and Marianne von Jármy. Since 1977 she has been working as a freelance artist in Cologne. From 1979 to 1980 she spent a year studying in Berlin.

Between 1980 and 1985, Kill stayed several times as an archaeological draftsman in Turkey , North Africa and southern Spain , which gave her artistic work a visible impetus. In 2006 the company moved from Cologne to the southern Palatinate .

She is a member of the German Society for Medal Art .

Act

Agatha Kill's medals have been selected for the German contribution to the world medal exhibitions (FIDEM) since 1992: 1992 in London, 1994 in Budapest, 1996 in Neuchatel, 1998 in The Hague, 2000 in Weimar, 2002 in Paris, 2004 in Seixal, 2007 in Colorado Springs, 2010 in Tampere, 2012 in Glasgow (a catalog was published for each exhibition). Several times, Kill was invited to the competitions of the Ministry of Finance to design a euro commemorative coin, some of which she successfully completed (see prizes).

The following works can be found among the orders from private individuals: 2001 Dr. Karl-Dieter Kortmann (medal); 2004 Gabriele Kortmann (iron bust); 2005 Dr. Jürgen Baur (medal); 2008 Dr. Walter Witzenmann (minted medal); 2011 Embossed medal for the Konrad Adenauer Competition of the Cologne Music School. In 2005/2006 Agatha Kill designed an embossed medal for Max Ernst .

The State Parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate has been honoring deserving parliamentarians with the Georg Forster Medal since 2015 , and Agatha Kill designed this honorary medal.

In March 2017, Agatha Kill was one of the nominees for the Otto Ditscher Prize for book illustration, another facet of your work.
