Research priorities

In addition to works on the history of coins and money in the Middle Ages and the modern era, numerous publications on German and European art medals as well as studies on the history of collections and science have appeared. In 1992 Steguweit founded the series of publications "The Contemporary Art Medal in Germany", which was renamed " The Art Medal in Germany " in 1996 . Of the 30 volumes published so far, Steguweit is author, editor or co-editor of 23 volumes. The Hilde Broër Prize for Medal Art, which was established in 2005 and has so far been awarded ten times, goes back to his initiative.
