Dragon Crusaders is a 2011 American fantasy film directed by, screenwriter, editor and cinematographer Mark Atkins . It was produced by The Asylum .
action
A group of crusaders flee from the king's army. They notice a pirate attack on a castle village and rush to the aid of the residents. But too late. Eventually they meet the warrior Aerona, who tells them that the pirates have kidnapped the orphan girl Neem. They go to the rescue, but find the boat abandoned. In the dungeon they find neem. This has cursed everyone who enters the ship. The pirates have turned into gargoyles who are now under the control of a magician who is known by everyone as "the Black Dragon".
The crusaders also suffer from the curse. However, because they are fundamentally good, they can withstand it for a long time. Together with Neem and Aerona, they set out to stop the magician. On their journey they meet revenants, witches and finally dragons. They manage to get into the cave of the wizard, but the latter has turned into a black dragon. Only in gargoyle form can they defeat him and free the kingdom. When the wizard dies, they too are freed from the curse.

The film was shot mostly in Wales . was released on September 27, 2011 in the United States. In Germany it was released on March 19, 2012 on Blu-Ray and DVD. On April 10, 2019, it was broadcast on Tele 5 as part of the film series The Worst Films of All Time .
Reviews
As with many films from The Asylum, it is primarily a trash film . The fantasy film is a bad Game of Thrones imitation. The film magazine Cinema described the film as "cheap trash". In the film service the conclusion was "Solid staged fantasy film, which was developed far from any logic, but is definitely entertaining."
