The Dreibrunnenbach arises in the Pupplinger Au in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district and, together with the Rothbach, forms the Aumühlbach , a tributary to the Isar .

Before the construction of the Mühltalkanal , the Dreibrunnenbach was a direct tributary to the Isar.

The Dreibrunnen spring is located in the Pupplinger Au nature reserve.
