Dreihäuser , Horni Hajnk in Upper Sorbian , is a settlement in the center of the East Saxon district of Bautzen . It belongs to Upper Lusatia and belongs to the municipality of Räckelwitz . Dreihäuser is located in the Sorbian core settlement area and has eleven inhabitants.
The small settlement was the residence of the Sorbian writer Jurij Brězan for many years . The author Benno Budar also lives here.
Dreihäuser is a station on the “In the footsteps of Krabat” cycle path .
Place name
The Sorbian place name can be freely translated as "mountain forester" ( hajnik, hajnk = "forester"). The Saxon mile sheets describe the settlement around 1800 as "the mountain houses". In the table sheet from 1884, in addition to "Dreihäuser", the alternative designation "at the mountain forester" is given.
geography
Dreihäuser is a few meters higher than the surrounding area at 160 m above sea level. NN. Räckelwitz in the south and Rosenthal in the north are about two kilometers away . Extensive forest areas extend to the west; the eastern area - the floodplain of the monastery water - is used for agriculture. The sand pond is 200 meters southwest of the group of houses .
Jurij Brězan described his place of residence as follows: "He found the little hill, five stalks of corn high above the Satkula brook , his home village in sight, and fifty paces to the edge of the vast forests."
