The cycle path begins at the "Black Mill" in Koselbruch near Schwarzkollm , the most important place of the Krabat saga . The Krabat mill , which serves as a cultural and event center, was recreated here. Via Zeißholz and through the Weißiger ponds, the path reaches the village of Biehla, where it meets the frog cycle path .

The Krabat cycle path leads through the pond areas of Deutschbaselitz to Kamenz , through the old town, along the Krabat playground and then through the quiet Herrental to the forest. According to legend, Krabat is said to have got stuck with his carriage in flight at the steeple of St. Mary's church, since then it has been a little crooked. From the Kamenzer Forst you can reach Nebelschütz via a well-developed cycle path and thus into the core of today's Upper Sorbian-speaking area . Passing the St. Marienstern monastery in Panschwitz-Kuckau , which was founded in 1248 , the cyclist arrives at Crostwitz , an important center of the Catholic Sorbs and, in 1945, the re-establishment of Domowina . Via Räckelwitz the route continues to Dreihäuser ( Horni Hajnk ), where the well-known Sorbian writer Jurij Brězan - author of the children's book “The Black Mill” and the Krabat novels - lived until his death in 2006.

The Krabat cycle path passes the pilgrimage site of Rosenthal and continues via Ralbitz to Eutrich , where, according to legend, Krabat was born. In Groß Särchen , further north, one encounters the remaining traces of the historical model for the legendary Krabat, the Croatian colonel Johann Schadowitz . As a thank you for his military service, he had received the estate in Groß Särchen as a gift and died in 1704 in the local inn "Zum Schwan". After another 5.5 kilometers the path reaches the town of Wittichenau , where Schadowitz is buried in the parish church and a memorial column on the market reminds him of him. Through the Dubringer Moor you finally get back to the starting point in Schwarzkollm.

Emergence
