The Dresden Men's Choir was founded in 1876 by the Dresden choir director and composer Hugo Richard Jüngst . The protector of the Dresden men's choir was King Friedrich August III. of Saxony. The Dresden Men's Choir was a member of the Julius Otto Association in Dresden and the German Singers Association . In addition, the entire association was an honorary member of the Teplitz Liedertafel and the Tauwitz Singers' Association in Prague. The end of the association most likely coincides with the bombing raids on Dresden in February 1945.
