Charlotte is actually happy with the surgeon Balthasar Sander married , but since their wedding more than six years of regular sexual intercourse with his unmarried brother Hubert. From then on, Charlotte and Hubertus feel they are about to reveal their relationship. When Hubertus gets a call from his brother one day and he tells him that it is about Charlotte, he gets a big shock and tries to come up with explanations. But Balthasar only reveals to his brother that he too is having an affair . It was important to him to finally talk to someone about it. Hubertus is relieved, but also has a conscience conflict with Charlotte. His construct of lies is getting bigger and bigger and soon threatens to collapse. In his desperation, he even begins to doubt whether Charlotte would really love him and when the next day the attractive young Russian Anastasia appears in his veterinary practice to have her dog examined, he immediately begins to fall in love with Anastasia. It is not easy for him to tell Charlotte the truth and to end their relationship. But it works and Hubertus is relieved. He is delighted to meet his brother to tell him the news that he has just fallen in love. His joy is suddenly clouded when he finds out that "his" Anastasia is his brother's affair. However, Hubertus is determined to fight for his new love. The opportunity arises when he is asked by Balthasar to drive to her hunting lodge, where he has made an appointment with Anastasia. But since Charlotte has planned to spend the weekend here with her husband, Anastasia has to "disappear". Hubertus takes on this assignment, but is late, so that all four meet. Out of desperation, Balthasar introduces Anastasia as Hubertus' new friend without realizing that he is doing his brother a big favor. At the end of all confusion, the four discover that Hubertus still loves Charlotte and that she suits him better than Anastasia. Balthasar, in turn, opts for the young Russian. However, Charlotte is deeply offended and initially does not want to know anything from Hubertus. She withdraws for months and when Hubertus finally finds her, she is heavily pregnant and is about to give birth. It remains to be seen whether Balthasar or Hubertus is the father of Charlotte's daughter.
